This month, we highlight a report that discusses strategies to promote the inclusion of mixed-income housing within transit-oriented developments. Some of these strategies include:

• Soliciting community input to prevent project delays and develop a streamlined approval process;
• Promoting mixed-income housing near transit-oriented developments by giving priority funding consideration to projects that include a variety of housing types; and
• Adopting reduced parking requirements to decrease development costs and open up space for other community uses.
