This historical publication provides an evaluation of the Housing Act of 1949 after enough experience had been accumulated to warrant and make possible a thorough over-all evaluation of the program regarding the quality of the projects planned and their indicated cost. The intent was to reflect the result of this study and of experience through an analysis of the various components of planning, design, and construction of low-rent public housing projects in relation to their cost.
