The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office
of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) is offering
state and local officials, builder/developers, and
others involved in Southern California fire recovery
efforts a list of relevant publications and other
resources to assist in the rehabilitation and rebuilding
processes. The package, titled "Research & Resources for
Fire Recovery," includes research reports, publications,
and information concerning the use of manufactured and
modular housing, rehabilitation, fire-resistant building
design, and disaster response. The "Research & Resources
for Fire Recovery" package also provides examples of
existing county ordinances and state laws that encourage
disaster recovery, fire protection, and efficient
reconstruction.

The complete list is available at
 https://www.huduser.gov/portal/publications/destech/fire_recovery.html.
These materials are available both electronically and in
printed form. To order, call 1-800-245-2691, option 1.
If you reside in California, or are involved in fire
reconstruction, you will not be charged for the
print-based reports. Downloading publications and other
resources available through HUD USER and the Regulatory
Barriers Clearinghouse is free.
