New U.S. Housing Market Conditions Report

HUD recently released the second quarterly report of
U.S. Housing Market Conditions for 2007, which contains
a comparative analysis with both the previous quarter
and with the second quarter of 2006. The report also
looks at national and regional data, as well as
historical trends in housing markets, production, and
affordability.
 
The feature article of this issue, "Estimating Assisted
Housing Program Parameters Using American Community
Survey Data," describes how data from the American
Community Survey will improve the tools used by HUD to
develop Median Family Income estimates, Income Limits,
and Fair Market Rents. In-depth housing market profiles
are also given for Amarillo, Texas; Ann Arbor, Michigan;
Baltimore, Maryland; Boise, Idaho; Gainesville, Florida;
Grand Rapids, Michigan; Knoxville, Tennessee; Miami-
Miami Beach-Kendall, Florida; Rockford, Illinois; San
Francisco, California; and Stockton, California.
