HOUSING INVESTMENT

Residential Fixed Investment (RFI) for the third quarter of 1999 was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $409.1 billion, 1 percent below the value from the second quarter of 1999 but 9 percent above the third quarter of 1998. As a percentage of the Gross Domestic Product, RFI was 4.4 percent, 0.1 percentage point below the previous quarter but 0.1 percentage point above a year ago.
