HUD recently released a new issue of U.S. Housing Market
Conditions for the third quarter of 2008. The report
contains an analysis of housing production, marketing,
affordability and interest rates, and of the multifamily
housing sector in comparison with the previous quarter
and the third quarter of 2007. Updated national data,
overviews of economic and housing market trends within
each HUD region, and historical trends in national and
regional housing markets are featured in this issue,
along with a feature article that shares highlights of
the 2007 American Housing Survey.
 
In-depth housing market profiles are also provided for
the following areas: Albany-Schenectady-Troy, New York;
Brownsville-Harlingen, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina-
South Carolina; Chicago-Naperville-Joliet, Illinois-
Indiana-Wisconsin; El Paso, Texas; Los Angeles County,
California; Orlando-Kissimmee, Florida; Portland-
Vancouver-Beaverton, Oregon-Washington; Salt Lake City,
Utah; and Waco, Texas.
