Austin-Round Rock, Texas Housing Market Area Update

HUD USER has posted a new Comprehensive Housing Market
Analysis report for the Austin-Round Rock, Texas housing
market area (HMA). The report shows that during the 12
months ending June 2009, compared with the previous 12-
month period:
 
o The average home price fell nearly 3 percent;
 
o Existing home sales decreased 22 percent;
 
o The number of single-family home permits issued was down
nearly 34 percent; and
 
o The rental vacancy rate was 12 percent, up from 8
percent.
 
This report covers the most recent 12 months, as well as
the periods from 1990 to 2000, 2000 through June 2009, and
a projected three-year period from July 1, 2009 to July 1,
2012.

Development and Research, Comprehensive Housing Market
Analysis reports update economic, demographic, and housing
inventory data useful in foreseeing changes in housing
trends and conditions. All HMA reports are available
