From: American Housing Survey (AHS) ListServ <ahs@huduser.gov>

We are planning to introduce three rotating topical modules in the 2013 American Housing Survey:

  • Neighborhoods and walkability
  • Household energy use
  • Disaster planning

Our current plan is to repeat these modules every four years, although the exact pattern is still under discussion.

Because of the lead time to turn content into operational, tested survey instrument items, we must give our list of new questions to the Census Bureau by the end of this calendar year. Thus, there is very little time remaining. If anyone has suggestions for questions that we might include, please send them to me by two weeks from today (November 23). Sooner would be better.

If anyone would like to see our tentative lists of items for the neighborhood or disaster modules, please contact me directly, and I will be happy to share them.
