NMTC Eligible Tracts that overlap wth Promise Zones

This fiscal year, the NMTC Program is adding the Administration's "Promise Zone" initiative to the list of areas of higher distress in the NMTC Application in the category for Federal/State/Local Economic Zones. For the 2014 & 2015 NMTC Application, this map shows the overlap of current Promise Zone areas and eligible NMTC Census tracts.

Federally designated Promise Zones are geographic areas defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). A Promise Zone designation enables the Federal government to partner with local leaders who are addressing multiple community revitalization challenges in a collaborative way. More detailed information on what constitutes a Promise Zone, which communities have been selected, and other guidance on the initiative can be found at the following HUD website: https://www.onecpd.info/promise-zones/

Please be aware that the CDFI Fund does not give preference to Applicants proposing to target QLICIs in Promise Zones or any other area of higher distress listed in Q.24. Per the Application tip, an Applicant that checks "Yes" to Question #24(a) will generally be scored more favorably, but Applicants are not evaluated based on specific areas of higher distress selected. Note that, if the Applicant receives a NMTC Allocation, it will be required to meet the percentage figure identified in Q. 24(a), and such requirement will be a term of its Allocation Agreement.
