The White House Commission on the National Moment of
Remembrance was established by Congress to educate this
and future generations of Americans about the sacrifices
and costs in human life made to preserve our liberties.
This year, the Commission asks Americans, wherever they
are on Memorial Day at 3 p.m. local time, to pause for a
minute of silence in an act of national unity. The time
was chosen because it is when most Americans are
enjoying their freedoms on the national holiday. HUD
USER joins you in remembering and wishes you a safe and
peaceful holiday weekend. We'll be back next week,
bringing the latest news and information of interest to
the housing research and practitioner communities who
strive toward safe, affordable, durable,
and accessible homes for all.
