From: HUD USER News

Data sets on single-family and multifamily mortgage
purchases in 2006 by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -
Government-Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) - are now
available from HUD USER. GSE mortgage data provide a
wealth of information on the flow of mortgage credit and
capital in America's communities to mortgage lenders,
planners, researchers, and housing advocates.

The single-family data set includes detailed information
on income, race, and gender of the borrower, as well as
the census tract location, loan-to-value (LTV) ratio,
seasoning (loan performance over specified period of
time), purchase/refinancing, and affordability. The data
also include property and unit-class information on all
multifamily mortgages acquired by the GSEs. Multifamily
property-level data include information on the size of
the property, categorized by unpaid principal balance,
and type of organization from which the GSE purchased
the mortgage. The multifamily unit-class file includes
information on the number, type, and affordability of
the units. Both the single-family and multifamily data
include indicators of whether the purchases are from
underserved census tracts, as defined in terms of their
median income and percentage minority population.

The new data, as well as data from previous years, are
available to download free of charge at
 https://www.huduser.gov/datasets/gse.html. The data can
also be ordered from HUD USER for a nominal fee by
calling 800-245-2691, option 1.
