HUD recently released the third quarterly report of U.S.
Housing Market Conditions for 2007, which contains a
comparative analysis with both the previous quarter and
with the third quarter of 2006. The report provides
national and regional data, as well as historical trends
in housing markets, production, and affordability.

The feature article of this issue, "HUD Home Purchase
Goals for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac," describes the
housing goals and performance of the two government-
sponsored enterprises. Housing market profiles also
offer in-depth views of Casper, Wyoming; Charleston,
West Virginia; Chicago, Illinois; Lake Charles,
Louisiana; Laredo, Texas; Los Angeles County,
California; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Raleigh, North
Carolina; Salt Lake City-Ogden-Clearfield, Utah; Tulsa,
Oklahoma; West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Boynton Beach,
Florida; and Wichita, Kansas.
