AHS: Job Opening at Census Bureau

The AHS branch has an opening for an economist at the GS-13 level.  Here
is the position description:

"This position is in the American Housing Survey Branch.  The branch
serves as the liaison between the Census Bureau and the sponsor of
the American Housing Survey (AHS), the Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD).  The incumbent conducts and serves as the
lead research analyst on policy requests emanating from HUD and other
cabinet agencies and Congress.  Identifies program requirements and
recommends actions to address needs.  Reviews existing social,
economic and housing programs to evaluate their effectiveness.
Prepares reports for distribution within and outside the agency.
Recommends changes in the administration and/or operation of
statistical programs to enhance performance.  Designs test modules
and participates in AHS data processing.  Provides expert advice and
assistance to AHS customers, particularly those who use the public-
use microdata.  The incumbent will be expected to occasionally work
at HUD headquarters located in DC."
