A new report, "Data on Home Mortgage Finance from the 1997, 1999, 2001,
2003, and 2005 American Housing Surveys," has been posted on the HUD
USER web site at https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html .  You
will find a link to the PDF file in the "AHS Based Analyses" section.

This report presents tables from the indicated AHS years using a format
similar to that used in the Residential Finance Survey (RFS).  Since the
owner-occupied portion of the RFS is unlikely to be repeated after the
2010 census, the AHS will become an important source for data about
mortgages on that part of the housing stock.

The report was prepared by Fred Eggers of Econometrica, Inc., under
contract with HUD.

In other AHS news, the Census Bureau gave HUD the first version of the
2007 national quality control file yesterday, right on schedule.  We
still plan to release the national public use file by the end of the
summer.
