This position serves as Chief of the American Housing Survey (AHS)

Branch in the Housing and Household Statistics Division. In this

capacity, the incumbent directs and coordinates the Branch's

participation in the planning and execution of the American Housing

Survey, which is the only source of detailed housing characteristics

in the United States. The incumbent coordinates and directs the

technical planning and development work pertaining to collection,

editing, review, tabulation, and dissemination of data from the AHS.

Works closely with the survey sponsor (Department of Housing and

Urban Development) to develop new questions for the AHS, develop

data products that meet the sponsor's needs, and answer questions the

sponsor may have about the data. Supervises or coordinates

evaluation of the quality of the data and development of

specifications to edit AHS data and impute for nonresponse. Works

closely with the senior research assistant in the branch to produce

analytical reports requested by the sponsor. Works closely with

other Divisions.
