The "Codebook for the American Housing Survey:  Public Use
File, 1997 and Later" has been updated.  The new version,
1.78, is available in PDF format from:

https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html

The ASCII data dictionary has also been updated, and it can
be downloaded from the same web page.

The codebook is a very large file.  You may find it more
convenient to download the whole file and use it offline,
rather than working from the PDF on the web site.

The ASCII data dictionary is a stripped-down version of the
codebook.  It provides just the basic information about the
AHS variables, without the explanatory text.  Note that
"ASCII" refers to the format of the dictionary itself--it is
a standard ASCII file, not a PDF.  Both the PDF codebook and
the ASCII data dictionary are applicable to any version of
the dataset, whether you download the data in SAS or ASCII.
