I'm afraid I don't know of any data source that distinquishes between legal and illegal immigrants. It's hard to imagine how one would collect that data in a survey, since illegals wouldn't be likely to reveal their status to someone who asked about it.

The AHS does include the country of origin, citizenship status, and the year of entry into the USA. But it doesn't ask about legal immigration status.
