Yizhao Yang <yy55@cornell.edu> asks :

>>Does the metropolitan zone map (in a GIS format) exist for the 2002 AHS?
Or is there a tract-to-zone file that I can use to generate a zone map?
The GIS map that can be downloaded from HUD website is only for the 1998

I know of no boundary files for the metro areas in the 2002 survey. The 1998 files were done as part of a special project to show off GIS at HUD. Producing such files for all the metro areas is on my list of things to do, but I will probably wait until we are finished converting them to the new OMB CBSA definition.

You can download a database linking zones to 1990 tracts from:

https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html

Look in the "supplemental data sets" section.

(Adding 2000 tracts to that database is another thing we're working on.)
