There have been two recent updates to the American Housing Survey web pages on HUD USER:

1. A report on "2007 Metropolitan Disaster Planning" has been posted to https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html#analyses. This report, written by ICF International and Econometrica, Inc. under contract with HUD, explores how AHS metropolitan survey data can be used to prepare for disasters such as hurricanes and earthquakes.

2. The 2009 AHS Metropolitan Survey of New Orleans instrument software has been posted to https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html. This is a package that can be downloaded and installed on a Windows-based computer in order to run the survey instrument (questionnaire) that was used in the New Orleans survey. It includes the special questions related to Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. Thus, you can step through the questionnaire and see what questions were asked and in what sequence. A similar package for the 2009 national instrument is already available on the same web page.
