Wikipedia is an online resource that is written by its users. Thus, anyone who has access to a computer can write or edit an article on wikipedia. Because people can interject their opinions or rumors into seemingly factual articles, the information in wikipedia may be highly suspect. Wikipedia articles also are not considered to be scholarly because the author may not be an expert in their field; their theories or data have not been verified.
