Dav,

Because of the vulnerability of South Florida (and other regions along the East Coast, the Gulf and the West Coast) to the impact of hurricanes, for which there is a season (June 1 to September 30), we have had ongoing discussions with the Census Bureau about using data from the American Community Survey to tease out some information about seasonal occupancy during hurricane season. This is especially relevant because facilities and services are based on estimates of population that would be in their homes at the time of an evacuation order. In areas with high seasonal population, it is important to have a good measure of the occupancy/vacancy rates and how they change over the course of the year. Any chance that is a topic for which we could include some questions for the Disaster Planning module?
