This month, we highlight a toolkit that provides guidance to local governments on how to promote, shape, and implement green affordable housing programs. Some of the policy tools and strategies outlined in the toolkit include:

• Adopting an integrated design approach for green building programs;
• Using development and financial incentives to promote green affordable housing; and
• Encouraging community engagement and key stakeholder input in shaping green policies.
