COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Our client is one of the leading Real Estate Advisory firms in the US, with a $20B portfolio under management that has been growing an average of 15% annually. The portfolio consists of direct investment into US and foreign real estate as well as a REIT securities fund. As a senior member of the research and investment teams, this position will advise and sculpt future investment strategies.

REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

      · The senior research analyst is responsible for providing an analysis of trends and conditions for apartment, office, industrial and retail markets for specific cities within a region of the US as well as overseeing the work of the research analyst(s).

      · As a regional team leader, the senior research analyst will proactively organize, lead and facilitate regional team meetings on a semi-annual basis. The regional team consists of investment professionals from acquisitions, asset management, underwriting and research.

      · The team is responsible for developing a region-wide investment strategy along with market ratings, and presents its recommendations to the investment committee. As part of analyzing trends, the senior research analyst will provide forecasts and/or views of real estate earnings growth (occupancy and rent growth) and capital market trends for the cities they cover within a region.

      · These estimates are utilized by both the public/private investment teams as an input into asset and stock selection. Proactively communicates investment themes and ideas through economic and property-type specific reports on a semi-annual basis for each market in the analyst’s region. These reports provide both a qualitative and quantitative overview of the economy in the market and the impact on real estate markets.

      · This analysis provides a basis for developing strategy with the regional and acquisition teams.

      · The senior analyst is also a member of the acquisition team for new investments and reports their findings on market conditions to the investment committee. Responsible for incorporating investment strategy based on fundamental real estate research into assigned client portfolio management teams.

      · Participate in marketing and client service presentations by providing insights into the commercial real estate marketplace and our investment processes.

      · Along with the Director of Investment Research, answer investment strategy-related questions in RFPs and other client-related discussions. Undertake special projects as assigned by the Director of Investment Research.

      · Candidate must possess 5-10 years in market research, trend analysis and forecasting; thorough knowledge of real estate fundamentals and the ability to compile all of the information and translate it into an executable strategy for the investment team. Person should must have excellent communication skills in group settings and individually and excellent computer skills. CFA designation is strongly preferred.
