Webinar Invitation: Rent Burden Study in the Los Angeles Promise Zone and South Los Angeles Transit Empowerment Zone

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development invites you to attend a webinar featuring research findings on housing affordability in the Los Angeles Promise Zone (LAPZ), in Central Los Angeles, and the South Los Angeles Transit Empowerment Zone (SLATE-Z). The research was conducted by the USC’s Price Center for Social Innovation, which included in-person, door-to-door surveys of 800 Los Angeles renter households. The project aimed to understand how rental affordability operates, uncovering how it impacts residents in Los Angeles specifically, and how its effects differ across populations. Surveys were conducted during 2019, in both Spanish and English, across the LAPZ, in Central Los Angeles, and SLATE-Z.

In addition, the Manager of the LAPZ will share how the USC Price Center for Social Innovation played a role in the LA Promise Zone’s Leadership Council and as Chair of the Data and Evaluation Task Force, as well as how the research will inform LAPZ’s future policy decisions.
