Evidence Building

 

Developing and using rigorous research and relevant evidence is essential for HUD’s mission. PD&R and HUD have created a variety of documents to support this effort, including Research Roadmaps, Annual Evaluation Plans (AEPs), and the HUD Capacity Assessment for Research, Evaluation, Statistics, and Analysis. The AEP, produced every year, describes the significant evaluation activities HUD expects to launch each fiscal year and documents HUD's major ongoing evaluation activities. The Capacity Assessment is attached to HUD's Strategic Plan that is released every four years. The Capacity Assessment examines the coverage, quality, methods, effectiveness, and independence of HUD's statistics, evaluation, research, and analysis efforts.
