AHS: Codebook, Topcode Documentation Released

From: American Housing Survey (AHS) ListServ <ahs@huduser.gov>

The updated codebook for the American Housing Survey public use data files is now available for download from the HUD USER web site, at https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html#codebooks. This version, 2.0, updates the codebook through the 2009 AHS files.

In addition, the topcode documentation files for the 2009 metropolitan datasets (Seattle and New Orleans) have been posted to the appropriate web pages. In order to maintain confidentiality, unusually high (and, in a few cases, low) values in the AHS dataset are replaced with maximum (or minimum) values, called top (or bottom) codes. These MS-Excel spreadsheets document these values for the affected variables.

Seattle 2009 survey:

Note that the topcode documentation file for the national survey was posted earlier.
