Affordable Housing in a Smart Growth Community
The recently completed New Harmony development is providing much needed affordable housing in Davis, California. The 69-unit apartment complex features solar panels designed to produce 70 percent of the building’s electricity and is situated close to bus service and city bike paths.

Mixed-Income Community Dynamics: Five Insights from Ethnography
Researchers are increasingly turning to qualitative analysis to better understand the social dynamics of mixed-income communities. Ethnographic studies complement quantitative research by revealing the mechanisms underlying broad socioeconomic trends and presenting new perspectives on community development.
