Atlanta, Georgia: Affordable Homeownership on the BeltLine

HUD User publishes a series of case studies based on federal, state, and local strategies that increase affordable housing opportunities and support sustainable community development. The projects and community development efforts featured in these reports have demonstrated innovation through a multitude of partnerships and initiatives.

A recent case study details the Lofts at Reynoldstown Crossing in Atlanta, Georgia. Developed by Atlanta Beltline, Inc., the project is a redevelopment of a vacant, partially completed luxury condominium building into 28 workforce condominium units, which were sold to moderate-income households. Completed in fewer than nine months at a cost of less than $700,000, the project provides affordable, infill housing in Atlanta's Reynoldstown neighborhood. The new development is directly adjacent to the Atlanta Beltline, one of the most ambitious and extensive urban redevelopment projects undertaken in the United States.
