State-level estimates

Today's release of the American Housing Survey (AHS) Table Creator includes a full set of 2015 AHS estimates for five states. The seven featured states are California, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Estimates are available for each of the 22 topical tables. A future release will include estimates for Colorado and Ohio.

Due to the 2015 AHS sample design, HUD and the Census Bureau cannot produce reliable estimates for other states. Due to disclosure rules, a State indicator variable will not be included in any Public Use File (PUF).

Revised 2015 weights

Due to necessary adjustments to the variables representing age of household members, the 2015 AHS PUF weights were revised. Today's release of 2015 PUF version 2.0 (National and Metropolitan) includes the updated weights.

Additionally, today's release of the Table Creator includes slightly revised 2015 AHS estimates due to the weighting revisions. As a result, all Table Creator estimates have changed slightly from the previous release. Table sections using the age variable experienced the largest changes, although the changes are minor.

Correction to 2015 recent mover data

An error was found in the 2015 PUF variable MVG1STAT. The variable was not properly set to "not applicable (N)" for mover groups that moved from an "other" structure type who were not asked this question. The error impacted the PUF and Table Creator estimates in the "Previous Home Owned or Rented by Current Household Member" section of the 2015 Housing Migration table.

Today's release of the Table Creator includes an error correction, resulting in revised estimates in the "Previous Home Owned or Rented by Current Household Member" section of the 2015 Housing Migration table. Today's release of 2015 PUF version 2.0 (National and Metropolitan) includes corrected values for the MVG1STAT variable.
