Although gentrification has been a topic of concern and debate for decades there is disagreement about the degree of displacement it causes or whether it brings benefits to longtime residents that stay in gentrified neighborhoods. Many communities facing housing market pressures want to create and retain economic diversity and maximize benefits gentrification can provide. Our panel of researchers and practitioners will consider lessons and best practices aimed at making integration work in a meaningful way.
Join HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research on April 11 for a lively conversation on how to make the most of community change.
