
HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) funded three HBCU Research Centers of Excellence in FY21 and FY22—Howard University, Texas Southern University and North Carolina A&T University—to support housing and community development research.
In October 2024, PD&R announced $5 million in award funding to Winston-Salem State University and Tennessee State University to establish additional HBCU Research Centers of Excellence. Check out the HUD press release for more information about the two new HBCU Center of Excellence awards.
