HUD Releases New Housing Market Data for Honolulu and Ithaca, NY

Two just-released, comprehensive reports on local housing
market conditions from HUD's Economic and Market Analysis
Division cover Honolulu and Ithaca. In Honolulu, the
local economy and housing market have rebounded after a
slowdown in tourism and related activities during the
1990s, the report finds. And in Ithaca, New York, the
report notes that the rental housing market is tight at
all rent levels, while supply and demand conditions in
the sales housing market are balanced.

The detailed data provided in this series of reports are
intended to assist and guide HUD in its operations, and
also to be useful to builders, mortgagees, and others
concerned with local housing conditions and trends. The
