An updated codebook for the American Housing Survey microdata is available for download from the HUD USER web site, at https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html#codebooks .

The new version updates the codebook for the changes to the survey in 2007.  It also incorporates the current version of the data users' FAQ as an appendix.

This update was produced by ICF Consulting, a subcontractor to Econometrica, Inc., which has the Analytic Support of the AHS contract with HUD.  While many people contributed to the new codebook, special recognition is due to Kevin S. Blake, Katherine Nicholson, Aleksandra
Simic, Boris Rachev, Lilly Shoup, Jennifer Slesinger, and Rebecca Kellerson.
