Subject: AHS: New Documentation Files

Two new files have been added to the Technical Supplements section of
the American Housing Survey web site on HUD USER,
https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html#supplements :

1. AHS Data User's FAQ: This is a compendium of gritty bits of
information concerning how to use AHS microdata. It was compiled from
questions that the users have asked us over the years. This version is
considerably updated and expanded from the previous one, and it is now a
PDF file with bookmarks for all the entries.

2. Topcode Documentation: This file describes the Census Bureau's
practices in top- and bottomcoding AHS data. Topcoding is the practice
of censoring extreme values in a dataset in order to protect the
confidentiality of the respondents.
