HUD has posted a document describing AHS supplements from the beginning
of the survey through 2005 on its web site,
https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html .  The document title
is "American Housing Survey Supplements (1973 - 2005)," and you can find
it in the Technical Supplements section of the web page.  The download
is in PDF format.
