There are two new reports in the "AHS Based Analyses" section of HUD USER's "More AHS Data and Publications" page ( https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/ahs.html ):

Effects of Changes in Ownership on Repair and Remodeling Behavior in Owner-Occupied Housing

Impact of Moving and Job Changes on Commuting Time

The former report examines the oft-quoted dictum that most alterations and repairs occur either when preparing to sell a house or shortly after buying one. The latter report looks at the relationship between home location and commuting time, for workers who either move or change jobs.

Both of these reports were produced by Econometrica, Inc., under contract with HUD. The principal investigators were Frederick J. Eggers and Fouad Moumen.
