Quality Control for Rental Assistance

The Quality Control for Rental Assistance Subsidy Determinations report was recently published on the web by the HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research. Based on FY 2008 data, this report is the seventh in a series of studies that provide national estimates of the extent, severity, costs, and sources of rent errors in tenant subsidies for the Public Housing, Tenant-Based Voucher, and Project-Based Assistance Programs.

The studies are used to assess HUD's performance in reducing Improper Payments, an important initiative of the Office of Management and Budget. They also point out the sources of errors, thereby enabling the Department to target these areas for further improvement. Quality Control for Rental Assistance is a tool for strengthening HUD's procedures and for ensuring administrative compliance with established regulations.
