The New York Times (11/13, Fischler, Subscription Publication, 1.23M) reported, "In partnership with the Islip Community Development Agency," the United Way of Long Island "is building two green affordable homes in the Regis Park section of Brentwood" and "providing on-the-job training for 35 students, ages 18 to 24, who are seeking graduate equivalency diplomas through United Way's federally funded YouthBuild program." The houses' "energy costs are expected to be $150 a month," partly due to "the highly insulated framing system" and rooftop solar panels.
