RI Lawmakers Consider "Homeless Bill of Rights"

The AP (1/18, Klepper) reports, "Homeless people in Rhode Island would have greater protections against housing and employment discrimination under legislation introduced by a state lawmaker. The so-called 'Homeless Bill of Rights' is intended to prohibit landlords, police, health care workers and others from treating homeless people unfairly." The measure, sponsored by Sen. John J. Tassoni, "specifically guarantees homeless people equal access to voting, housing, public buildings, public transportation, social services, employment and law enforcement."
