CT Approves $1B In Renewable Energy Credits

The Hartford Business (4/5) reports, “Connecticut regulators on Wednesday morning approved a $1 billion renewable energy credit program put in place by the state legislature last year. The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority created the Zero-emissions Renewable Energy Credit and Low-emissions Renewable Energy Credit initiatives — better known as ZRECs and LRECs — to help spur the installation of clean energy systems statewide.” Dan Esty, commissioner of the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection said that this move will help the state achieve its goal “of cheaper, cleaner, and more reliable energy.”
