Pittsburgh Housing Authority Addresses Safety Concerns

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (6/29) reports, "The Pittsburgh Housing Authority has taken strides to improve safety in its communities, Executive Director A. Fulton Meachem Jr. told the authority's board Thursday, responding to concerns about security in its largest communities." The piece notes that recently, the authority "launched an internal probe of its contract with Victory Security, of Carnegie, which provides off-duty constables who patrol its largest communities." Meachem explained that residents who commit violent crimes are evicted, and non-residents who are arrested are not allowed on the properties.
