Reuters (8/2, Rheannon) reports green construction is becoming more common, and more beneficial. A study commissioned by CB Richard Ellis shows incredible growth in the industry, accounting for around 35 percent of 2010's new construction. A home that features energy-efficient measures sometimes sells for 30 percent more than a non-efficient home, Reuters reports, and can also speed up the time in which the property sells. Various city, state, and Federal rebates mean home retrofits are more affordable, and such improvements are beginning to pay for themselves more quickly.
