HUD Awards Grants to Alaska Villages Tribes.

The AP (9/8) reports that HUD "has awarded grants totaling nearly $5.9 million to almost a dozen Alaska Native villages and tribes" and says that "the money is intended to help create or improve housing and economic opportunities for families with low- to moderate incomes." HUD awarded this week over $52.6 million through the Indian Community Development Block Program.
