Posted Date: December 31, 2020

This historic report reflects on the 30th anniversary of the passage of Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, the Federal Fair Housing Law. The report discusses the steps taken by HUD and its public and private partners to combat discrimination in the sale, rental, or financing of dwellings based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. HUD's Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity administers and enforces the Fair Housing Act and its amendments, which in 1988 expanded coverage to additionally prohibit discrimination based on disability and familial status.

This report is part of the collection of scanned historical documents available to the public.
