The Fair Housing Act at 50
In the leadership message, acting general deputy assistant secretary for PD&R Todd M. Richardson discusses the impact of the Fair Housing Act, signed into law by President Johnson on April 11, 1968. New Affordable Housing Opens in Denver's Five Points Neighborhood — Welton Park
Welton Park, a 223-unit affordable family housing development in Denver's historic Five Points neighborhood, opened in fall 2016. Developer Century Development's successful completion of the $44.1 million project helped kick-start additional development in the area northeast of downtown, and contributed to the revitalization strategy for the neighborhood adopted by the city in 2011. During the development process, Century implemented a participatory design process to assuage community concerns about affordable housing.
