In 2023, HUD awarded Texas A&M University $1,832,634 to support a Center of Excellence. Texas A&M’s Center for Housing & Urban Development (CHUD) is a research center in the University’s School of Architecture. The research focuses on (1) the migration and settling patterns of Hispanics, (2) the public and private influences on development patterns, and (3) locational outcomes for Hispanics and the impact of these patterns on environmental risks like flooding, heat, and toxic facilities.
